The Canterbury cricketers beat Northern Districts by 5 wickets to finish second in the State Shield one day standings and will host Otago in one of the semi-finals on Wednesday.
Canterbury scored 274 for 8 with Shanan Stewart scoring 120, while Shane Bond took 4 for 56 as Northern finished on 269 for 7.
Northern still finish top of the standings and will host Central in the other semi-final... Central beat Auckland by 51 runs.
Wellington beat Otago by 1 wicket in the third match.
