The New Zealand golfer Sarah Nicholson, buoyed by her best showing of the summer, is excited about competing on home turf for this week's New Zealand Women's Open in Christchurch.
The Perth-based New Zealander finished in a share of 17th place at the New South Wales Open in Sydney yesterday, won by brilliant Australian 20-year-old Sarah Oh.
Oh finished three shots clear of fellow Australian Katherine Hull, one of the headline acts for this week's New Zealand Open after her win on the LPGA last year.
Nicholson says she was happy with her ball striking during the week but her putting let her down in her first full tournament back after a break.
She's excited about this week's inaugural New Zealand Open at the Clearwater Resort.... saying it has been a dream of hers to play as a professional in her own country.
She says the field is absolutely brilliant and she hopes golf fans and those interested in women's golf especially come and see just how good these players are.
