Updated at 1:29 pm on 26 January 2009

The men's tennis world number one Rafael Nadal is in action today taking on Chilean Fernando Gonzalez in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

While Nadal dusted off German Tommy Haas in straight sets, Gonzalez sweated in a 3-6 3-6 7-6 6-2 12-10 classic against Frenchman Richard Gasquet.

In other matches, sixth seed Gilles Simon plays fellow Frenchman Gael Monfils, while last year's finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga takes on American James Blake.

Briton Andy Murray faces his most difficult test at the Open with a match-up against Spanish 14th seed Fernando Verdasco.

Women's No.2 seed Serena Williams faces an intriguing fourth round showdown with 13th seed Victoria Azarenka from Belarus.

And Spanish surprise packet Carla Suarez Navarro takes on compatriot Anabel Medina Garrigues, while fourth seed Elena Dementieva plays 18th seed Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova.
