Super Bowl living up to tag the Economy bowl

Just days before Super Bowl XLIII, American television network NBC is still to sell its last few commercial spots.

This close to game time, Monday New Zealand time, it's unusual to have any of the 67 time slots unsold spurring some advertising wags to call Super Bowl 2009 the Economy Bowl.

The network had no trouble getting takers for its record-high $5.6 million dollar-per-half-minute spots before September's Labor Day but sales have fizzled since.
