Klein happy to ref Stuart's Sharks

Rugby League World Cup final referee Ashley Klein says he'll have no problem presiding over Ricky Stuart's Sharks when he officiates in the NRL this season.

After arriving in Sydney from the UK after accepting an offer to join the NRL's full-time referees squad, the 29-year-old match official says he's eagerly awaiting his chance to referee in the NRL.

The Bathurst-born ref had a well-publicised run-in with the now-former Australian coach Stuart at a Brisbane hotel following the Kangaroos' final loss to New Zealand in November.

The Sharks mentor stood down from his position as Australia coach after he lashed out verbally at Klein.

Klein has spent the past six seasons in the English Super League and isn't sure whether he'll start officiating in the NRL or spend some time in the lower divisions.
