McCullum accepts Symonds apology

2:19 pm on 30 January 2009

The New Zealand wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum has received a call from Andrew Symonds apologising for the Australian all-rounder's radio rant.

McCullum says he received a voicemail message from Symonds and says he hopes to see him back playing for Australia as soon as possible.

Symonds was fined $4,000 by Cricket Australia for his alcohol-fuelled interview with comedy team Roy and HG, which included a reference to McCullum as "a lump of shit".
