Amatuer leading New Zealand Women's Golf Open

The New Zealand amateur golfer Cecilia Cho has jumped out to a suprise early lead at the New Zealand Women's Open at the Clearwater course in Christchurch.

The 14 year old from Pakuranga is five under midway through the first round after sinking six birdies on the front nine.

Christchurch's Kerryn Starr is the next best placed New Zealander and joins LPGA regular Australian Katherine Hull and American Diana D'Alessio in a four way tie for second two shots behind Cho on three under.
