The International Cricket Council has fined Australia for its slow over-rate in its two-wicket one-day cricket defeat to New Zealand in Perth last night.

Ricky Ponting's side was ruled to be two overs short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration.

The decision means Ponting has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee while the rest of the Australian side receive 10 per cent fines.
