Keane heading back to White Hart Lane

Liverpool have agreed to sell striker Robbie Keane back to Tottenham Hotspur just months after bringing him to Anfield from their English Premier League football rivals.

The news of Keane's return to White Hart Lane was announced barely an hour before the close of the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has played just six minutes of Liverpool's past three games and has now failed to feature in four of their past seven matches.

Keane cost 56 million dollars when he moved to Anfield from Tottenham in July but reports suggested Spurs manager Harry Redknapp was ready to bring him back to White Hart Lane for a fee in the region of 40 million.

The Premier League has agreed to extend the transfer deadline for clubs who cannot complete deals because of the current weather conditions in Britain.

The south of England has been hit by some of the heaviest snow it has seen in 20 years.

That weather has seen Arsenal's FA Cup fourth round replay with Cardiff City tomorrow postponed.
