Five months away from the sport and the rowing twins Caroline and Georgina Evers-Swindell say they're stunned to have been named the team of the year at the Halberg Awards.

Olympic shot put champion Valerie Vili won the Supreme Award for the second consecutive year, while motor racing driver Scott Dixon won the sportsman award.

At the Beijing Olympics, the rowing pair made history with their win, the first time the women's double sculls title has been successfully defended.

They retired straight afterwards, and Caroline says they were very suprised to have won the team category from some exellent opposition.

The pair won the Supreme Award in 2001.
