Afghan cricket team need government support to reach 2011 World Cup

The Afghanistan cricket team has returned home from Argentina to a heroes welcome after being granted entry to April's World Cup qualifying round in South Africa.

The Afghan's beat Uganda to finish top of the World League Division Three tournament gaining automatic entry into the World Cup Qualifier.

However captain Taj Malik told media the Afghan cricketers can only improve if the government improves the live's of the players by providing financial support.

A place in the top two of their World Cup qualifying group will guarantee the Afghan's a spot in the 2011 cricket World Cup.
