Clarke pulls out of IPL auction

The Australian vice-captain Michael Clarke has declined to step aboard the cricketing gravy train that is the Indian Premier League for the second year running.

Citing a desire to look after his body and spend the rare occasions this year when Australia will not be playing with his family, Clarke will skip Friday's IPL auction.

But Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin committed himself on Thursday night to the auction, after also having weighed up his options.

Clarke had a $US1 million reserve price attached to him before his decision to withdraw.
