Otago top Twenty20 competition

Otago are top of the State Twenty20 cricket competition after winning their third straight match, beating Central Districts by 23 runs in New Plymouth.

Otago chose to bat first and made 206 - the third time this season they have passed 200... Aaron Redmond made 67.

Central, who are yet to win a match, finished on 183 for 8 with Matthew Sinclair making 61.

Wellington beat Northern Districts by 6 wickets and Canterbury beat Auckland by 2 wickets.

So Otago have 12 points, Auckland, Canterbury and Wellington have 8, and Northern and Central none.
