Wales have begun their defence of the Six Nations rugby title with a 26-13 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield.

The Welsh, who led 26-6 early in the second half, ran in four tries.

Welsh place kicking was poor with Stephen Jones, who managed two penalties, missing all four conversions, and Leigh Halfpenny, one of the try scorers, missing a penalty.

Yesterday England beat Italy 36-11 and Ireland beat France 30-21.
