The New Zealand wicketkeeper and opening batsman Brendon McCullum is still very much in doubt for today's vital fourth match in the Chappell-Hadlee one day cricket series in Adelaide.
McCullum is still sore after being struck on the shoulder by a sharply rising ball from pace bowler Kyle Mills during Sunday's game in Sydney, and he won't know until today the results of scans taken yesterday.
McCullum says while he's desperate to be part of a winning side, his decision will be influenced by the advice of his doctors. The Auckland wicketkeeper Gareth Hopkins is in Adelaide on standby.
Meanwhile there's a suggestion from the Australian camp that the Victorian pace bowler Peter Siddle, who has recovered from a foot injury, could be selected for his first one day international today, ahead of Ben Hilfenhaus.
New Zealand lead the 5-match series 2-1, and today's game starts at 4.15.
