PCB to lift ban on its ICL players

9:01 am on 12 February 2009

The Pakistan Cricket Board says it will respect an interim Sindh High Court decision lifting the ban on its players competing in the non-sanctioned Indian Cricket League.

The hearing was adjourned until February 25 but the PCB's lawyer Shaan Gul says the temporary stay on the ban will be recognised.

In the meantime the players who filed the case are eligible to compete in domestic cricket in Pakistan.

Earlier this month, the court lifted the ban from Mohammad Sami, Abdul Razzaq, Hasan Raza, Shabbir Ahmed, Mohammad Yousuf, Rana Naved, Tahir Mughal, Shahid Yousuf, Hafiz Khalid, Naved Latif and Shahid Nazir.

Their appearance in the ICL rather than the officially recognised Premier League - prompted the Pakistan board to ban them playing domestic and international cricket.
