In the day's only Premier League match Portsmouth has beaten the visiting Manchester City 2-0.
The Portsmouth defenders Glen Johnson and Hermann Hreidarsson scored the two goals after halftime on 70 and 75 minutes to increase the pressure on the manager of the self-styled richest club in the world, Manchester City's Mark Hughes.
There were 20,018 spectators at Fratton Park for the game, which lifts Portsmouth to 15th, four points off the drop zone.
