The New Zealand Breakers have snapped their five-game losing streak and cemented a maiden home play-off match next week after a 103-69 win over the Cairns Taipans in their Australian national Basketball League clash on the North Shore.
The match was effectively over by half-time as the fired-up Breakers established a six-point first-quarter lead that immediately blew out in the second as a listless Taipans outfit appeared increasingly disinterested.
The Breakers led 53-32 at the half.
Kirk Penney returned from injury to lead scoring with 19 points.
The Breakers travel to Sydney this weekend for their last regular season match with their quarter-final next week likely to be against Adelaide.
