Breakers adamant they've overcome late season yips

The Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis is adamant his side's overcome their late-season form slump and are bristling with confidence heading into the National Basketball League finals.

The Breakers, for the first time in their six-year history, host a play-off match against the Adelaide 36ers tonight in Auckland.

After leading the competition midway through, the Breakers only managed to win three of their last 11 matches to slip to third place on the NBL ladder.

Lemanis says his team feels positive about the task ahead, despite suffering a 102-91 loss to Adelaide earlier this month.

He says a run of injuries, particularly to Australian international point guard CJ Bruton, who was sidelined with an ankle problem, had upset the team but that's now behind them.

While the Breakers struggled at the end of the season Adelaide have battled on the road all year, winning just three from 15 away games.

Their recent record in the NBL finals is even worse, unable to break through for a playoff series win since the 2002 championship.
