Tiger Woods's caddie, the New Zealander Steve Williams , says he's a little nervous ahead of the world number one's imminent return to golf after reconstructive knee surgery.

Woods has been out of action since winning the U.S. Open in June but is on the brink of announcing the date of his comeback tournament.

Williams says nine months out of the game after a major operation is a long time, but his boss is one hell of a competitor and one of the best ever seen in this game so he suspects he'll carry right on.

Williams says Woods has had to modify his swing a little bit to accommodate his knee but the guy always finds a way.

Williams says Woods wanted to play at least two tournaments before the first major of the season, the US Masters which starts on April 9th.

The New Zealander says Woods is probably 95 percent of the way there, he just needs a little bit more walking as he hasn't been able to walk too well.
