The New Zealand Breakers added to an already historic season with a record score in beating the Adelaide 36ers 131-101 last night to reach the Australian National Basketball League semi-finals for the first time.

The Breakers' best-of-three semi-final series against the defending champion Tigers starts in Melbourne on Wednesday night.

The US amateur champion Danny Lee leads the New Zealand challenge after an opening round of 67 on the first day of the 3.6 million dollar Johnnie Walker golf classic in Perth.

18 year old Lee is three strokes from the lead, while the defending champion Mark Brown and the New Zealand number one David Smail both had 70s.
