Milan refuse to budge in Beckham talks

12:10 pm on 22 February 2009

AC Milan's chief executive says the Italian football club don't want to increase their offer to sign David Beckham permanently from Los Angeles Galaxy.

Adriano Galliani says he doesn't want to cause controversy and thanks Galaxy the loan of Beckham but he absolutely won't increase the offer, because the England midfielder has a get-out clause in his Galaxy contract for the end of the next Major League Soccer season.

Milan don't see why they should pay more as Beckham can leave for free at the end of November.

Milan has offered Galaxy an amount reportedly up to $12 million but the LA club are hinting that they want double that.

Given the impasse in negotiations, media reports have begun to speculate that Beckham will go back to Galaxy for a few months before returning to Italy.
