All-rounder Jacob Oram will play as a specialist batsman for the New Zealand cricketers' two Twenty20 internationals against India next week while batsman Jesse Ryder has also been recalled from injury.
The left-arm pace bowler Ewen Thompson also returns while Ross Taylor's fit to play after a hamstring injury last week.
Oram returns to the 13-man squad as a batsman only after recovering from an Achilles tendon injury while Ryder was cleared to make his comeback from a shoulder complaint.
