Jamie How to lead New Zealand A against England Lions

4:49 pm on 24 February 2009

The New Zealand A side to play the first of two four-day cricket matches against the England Lions will have an unusual opening attack featuring three left-arm pace bowlers.

Black Caps James Franklin and Trent Boult will be backed by Mitchell McClenaghan from Central Districts.

The selection panel's head Glenn Turner says that's good as there haven't been many left arm quicks at the top level in recent years.

Jamie How will captain the side and another Black Cap Tim McIntosh has also been named.

The first match starts in Queenstown on Sunday and the second at Lincoln on March 7.

The rest of the team is: Brent Arnel, Peter Ingram, Bruce Martin, BJ Watling, Kane Williamson, Luke Woodcock, and Reece Young.
