Melbourne's South Dragons needed a final quarter blitz to overpower Townsville 94-81 in the opening game of their best of three Australian National Basketball League semi-final series last night in Melbourne.
The Dragons appeared headed for defeat for much of the night before Mark Worthington, who scored 12 of his 27 points in the final quarter, sealed the win.
The second game of their series is tomorrow night in Townsville.
The Breakers start their best-of-three series against the defending champion Tigers tonight in Melbourne.
