Pakistan's captain within sight of Lara's world record

The first cricket test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka can only end in a draw, but there'll be great interest in the attempt by Pakistan's captain Younis Khan to break Brian Lara's world record innings on the final day.

Younis ended the fourth day in Karachi on 306, and he's set to take advantage of a flat batting pitch to chase down Lara's world record score of 400 not out later today.

Younis is the third Pakistani to score a test triple ton after Hanif Mohammad and Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Pakistan are 574 for 5 in reply to Sri Lanka's first innings of 644 for 7 declared.
