Some top English football clubs are doing their bit to try and help fans feeling the pinch from the global recession by cutting ticket prices for next season.

Newcastle United have become the latest Premier League club to slash prices, joining following Sunderland, Manchester City and Portsmouth who have cut their ticket prices by up to 16 percent.

The cuts have come just weeks after an independent report revealed that Premier League clubs had spent a record 160 million pounds in the January transfer window.
