New Zealand's Dan King-Turner has missed out on a place at a $50,000 Futures Tournament in Australia losing to Slovakia's Ivo Klec 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(5) in a match that took nearly three hours,
The Slovakian called for a medical time-out in the final set, then continued to clinch the final set in a tie-breaker.
King-Turner will now return home to prepare for the Davis Cup tie against Malaysia,
starting at the Albany Tennis Centre a week on Friday.
