Vettori far from confident heading into final few overs

The Black Caps skipper Dan Vettori admits he was far from confident his side was going to win in the final few overs of the deciding Twenty-20 cricket encounter against India in Wellington.

Having restricted India to 149 for six, the Black Caps run chase started well but stuttered midway.

They eventually needed nine runs off the last three balls, with man of the match Brendan McCullum who finished unbeaten on 69 off 55 balls, then hitting two boundaries leaving the scores tied.

He then chipped a single over midoff to secure the the win and a two-nil series win.

Vettori says the start his team got off to made it a lot easier but India played really well and put them under immense pressure.

The skipper says it's lucky McCullum played as well as he did to seal the win.

The two sides now head to Napier, with the first of five one dayers starting there on Tuesday.
