Justin Collins to make 100th Super Rugby appearance

2:28 pm on 28 February 2009

The Blues Justin Collins will make his 100th appearance in Super rugby against the Stormers in Cape Town on Sunday morning with coach Pat Lam describing the stalwart as one of Super Rugby's best ever players.

The 34-year-old openside flanker, who debuted for the Chiefs 11 years ago, will also join an elite group of players including Doug Howlett and Carlos Spencer to have played over 80 games for the Blues franchise.

Lam says Collins has been one of the great servants of New Zealand rugby and is a legend on and off the field with the quality and ruthlessness he brings to the team.

Lam says he's one of the fittest guys in the Blues and the team's really pleased for him.

The coach says the team are looking to play a big game for Collins and they've also been lifted by the return of Jerome Kaino, Taniela Moa and Joe Rokococo with the trio joining the team after waiting for the births of their first children.
