Ramnaresh Sarwan is unbeaten on 184 as the West Indies have reached 398 for five in reply to England's 600 at stumps on the third day of the fourth cricket test in Barbados.
Sarwan's batted for 280 minutes and faced 192 balls.
He and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who made 70, combined ion a 122 run partnership.
Graeme Swann with three for 92 has been the best of the English bowlers.
