Habana could have broken hand

1:21 pm on 1 March 2009

The Springbok and Bulls star winger Bryan Habana will find out tonight the extent of a hand injury which forced him to leave the field during their Super 14 rugby match against the Lions at Ellis Park.

Bulls coach Frans Ludeke says the team doctor suspects it may be as bad as a fracture.

If x-rays do confirm a breat Habana, the 2007 world player of the year could be out of action for a month.

Should Habana be ruled out for a month, he will miss a match against the Stormers in Pretoria next Saturday and away games against the Hurricanes and Highlanders in New Zealand.

The Bulls beat the Lions 16-9 to stay top of the Super 14 standings.
