Lights a worry for Black Caps skipper ahead of opening one dayer

10:27 am on 3 March 2009

Expect a high scoring first one day cricket international between New Zealand and India, a day-nighter starting at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Napier's McLean Park.

Until recently, matches at McLean Park have been day games, and the Black Caps captain Daniel Vettori isn't sure what he might do if he wins the toss, although he's tending towards batting first because he's concerned about the quality of the McLean Park lights.

Vettori says the lights aren't all that good so it'll be interesting at the end.

However he says the wicket looks fantastic and a par-score is normally around 280-300.

The match features the first appearance on tour for India's super batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
