The singles sculls world champion and Olympic bronze medalist Mahe Drsydale looks to have got the selectors' nod for August's rowing World Championships in Poland .

They've decided yesterday's race between the triple world champion Drysdale and the former Olympic champion Rob Waddell will be the only one during the trial and selection week at Lake Karapiro.

Drysdale beat Waddell at the national championships, then in the trial, and now he's's been invited to take part in Friday's formal time trial when crews are timed over a final 2 kilometre row.

The elite and under 23 squads will be named on Friday.
