The Wellington Phoenix football side have lost their major sponsor Sony.
The sponsorship of the A league side is reportedly worth $3 million a year although club CEO Tony Pignata wouldn't say how much the deal is worth maintaining Sony's departure will have only a small financial impact on the club.
Pignata says the club has no other major sponsor in the pipeline at this stage but is optimistic one will be in place before this A league kicks off later in the year.
