Indian cricketers try and reassure New Zealand players about safety

The Indian batsman Virendar Sehwag has sought to reassure New Zealand cricketers involved in the Indian Premier League in India they'll be safe, in the wake of the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Pakistan.

Sehwag , who plays with Dan Vettori in the New Delhi IPL side has spoken with the Black Caps skipper about the ramifications of the Lahore attack, with the tournament due to resume early next month.

Vettori says he safety wasn;'t a concern when he played in the IPL last year but things are so fluid in that part of the world it is now.

Eight New Zealand players are currently contracted to IPL
