Rowing New Zealand's 22-strong squad for the international season has some new crews and faces but there are plenty of familiar names despite retirements after the Olympics.

Emma Twigg and Mahe Drysdale - who beat his great rival Rob Waddell at the national hampionships and the trial at Lake Karapiro - are selected as single scullers.

Duncan Grant will race for a third consecutive world title in the lightweight single.

Eric Murray and Hamish Bond are the men's pair, Matthew Trott is re-united with Nathan Cohen in the men's heavy double scull, and Olympians Storm Uru and Peter Taylor retain the lightweight double scull.

Paula Twinning and Anna Reymer are in the women's double scull, with Rebecca Scown and Emma Feathery in the pair.

There's also new men's lightweight four and a women's quad scull.
