9:00 am on 8 March 2009

South Africa are 138 for seven at stumps on the second day of the second cricket Test against Australia in Durban.

South Africa captain Graeme Smith will miss the third and final Test after fracturing a finger.

Smith retired hurt on two after being struck on the right glove by a delivery from left-armer Mitchell Johnson.

Selectors have yet to decide who will take over the captaincy in the field for the last three days of the second Test.

Australia lead the series 1-0.
