England Lions in control

England Lions are in control of their four day cricket match at Lincoln's Bert Sutcliuffe Oval after dismissing New Zealand A for 243.

England's A side is 56 without loss, an overall lead of 159 with two days to play.

In the State Championship Central Districts trail Canterbury by 89 in Rangiora with six second innings wicket in hand going into the last day after being asked to follow on.

Northern Districts need 156 runs to win in Whangarei and Auckland need seven wickets.

Play was abandoned in Dunedin with Wellington 74 for two in their second innings chasing 321 to beat Otago.
