Israel have beaten seven-times champions Sweden 3-2 in their Davis Cup first round tennis tie in Malmo which was played behind closed doors.

The three-day tie was overshadowed by security concerns with the hosts deciding to close the hall to the public, and only some 400 media representatives, sponsors and guests witnessed the drama of the deciding rubber.

Israel face Russia in the last eight.

In other group matches.... the United States beat Switzerland and will now play Croatia.

World number one Rafa Nadal returned to action after injury to help Spain beat Serbia and setup a clash with Germany, while Argentina will play the Czech Republic in the other quarter-final tie.
