New experience for cyclists

For two members of the New Zealand track cycling team, the world championships in Poland later this month, will be a very new experience.

Kaytee Boyd and Jaime Neilsen have been confirmed as part of the 12-strong New Zealand side for the champs, headed by national pursuit champions Jesse Sergent and Alison Shanks.

Boyd and Neilsen are still relative newcomers to the sport, with Boyd a former mountain-biker and Neilsen a rower, who two weeks ago picked up four medals at the rowing nationals in Twizel.

Bike NZ's High Performance Manager Mark Elliott says both have adapted quickly to their new found sport.
