The Wales scrum-half Dwayne Peel has been ruled out of the remainder of the Six Nations with a torn hamstring.
Peel will be replaced in the starting side to play Italy in Rome this weekend by the Ospreys Mike Phillips, with London Irish No 9 Warren Fury coming on to the bench as cover.
Peel, who has only started one Test since Warren Gatland became Wales coach, suffered the injury playing for his English club Sale in the Premiership against Newcastle last weekend.
