The New Zealand women's cricket team has beaten the West Indies by 56 runs for their second straight win at the ICC World Cup in Sydney and qualification for the Super Six stage of the tournament.
The White Ferns scored 192 for 8 with captain Aimee Mason making 38 and then number 8 batsman, Sarah Tsukigawa hit an unbeaten 41 off 35 balls.
The New Zealand bowlers then kept things tight in the field and it was Tsukigawa who shone again, conceding just 14 runs from her 8 overs.... spinners Aimee Mason and Lucy Doolan took 3 wickets each before the Windies finished on 136 for 8.
White Ferns coach Gary Stead says his side definetly got a real test particularly from the disciplined approach The West Indies bowlers took into the match.
He says it was game on for about 20 overs when The Windies openers went about their task chasing their target but he was really pleased with his bowlers who pegged things back.
The White Ferns next play winless South Africa at Bradman Oval in Bowral tomorrow.
England have also qualified for the Super Sixes after beating India by 9 wickets.
