Manly impose restrictions on players

The National Rugby League club Manly will impose strict restrictions on players at official functions.

The NRL has suspended Manly fullback Brett Stewart for four games for getting drunk at a club function on Friday.

Stewart allegedly sexually assaulted a 17 year old girl on his way home.

Club chairman Scott Penn says players now have to remain sober at social events.

The Queensland coach and former star player Mal Meninga has supported the NRL's decision to stand down Stewart.
