Turner doesn't want Oram giving up Test cricket

The head of the New Zealand cricket selection panel Glenn Turner says he wouldn't want to see all-rounder Jacob Oram revert to one day cricket in an effort to lengthen his career.

Oram, who's been beset by injuries in recent years, hasn't been named in the Test squad to play India, as he doesn't feel his body is yet up to the rigours of five days of play after recently overcoming an Achilles injury.

Given his back, calf and achilles problems a question mark hangs over Oram as to just how long he can continue to bowl rather than play as a batsman only.

The alternative, playing one day cricket, wouldn't be a good career move according to Turner.
