Ireland victory keeps grand slam dreams alive

The Irish rugby team's beaten Scotland 22-15 in a bruising Six Nations clash to close in on a first championship in 24 years.

Ireland's also edged to within one victory of repeating their only grand slam of 1948.

Ireland go to Cardiff next weekend with a two-point lead in the standings over holders Wales after earning their fourth straight win in this year's campaign with a deserved victory over the battling Scots at Murrayfield.

In Rome Wales struggled to beat Italy 20-15.

England play France early tomorrow (NZT).
