Annamay Pierse has broken the women's 200m breaststroke short course world record at the 2009 Canadian spring nationals meeting.
The Beijing Olympic finalist clocked a time of 2min 17.50sec to eclipse the previous short course mark of 2:17.75, set by Australian Leisel Jones in 2003, in Melbourne.
