The Crusaders player Owen Franks has been cleared of a dangerous tackle charge stemming from the weekend's Super 14 clash against the Western Force in Christchruch.
Franks was cited for an alleged dangerous late and high tackle on Force player Matt Giteau late in the match.
But at a hearing today in Christchurch it was ruled Franks' tackle on Giteau was not late and was not high had not been high, as Giteau had fallen downwards and into the space which Franks had been running into.
As a result, the citing was not upheld and there had been no breach of the laws of the game.
