NBL Chairman confident on-court action will come to the fore

The Chairman of the New Zealand National Basketball League is confident the 2009 season will still be one worth watching, despite the off-season being dominated by financial and organisational propblems.

The new board only replaced the outgoing one less than 6 months ago, after taking over the running of the competition from Basketball New Zealand.

The leagues administration is also being run by the Wellington Saints franchise because the NBL can't afford to employ it's own staff to do the job.

NBL Chairman Sam Rossiter-Stead says the current arrangements are only temporary and despite the off-court problems, on court he's anticipating plenty of exciting match-ups for the fans.
