The All Black number eight Rodney So'oialo has re-signed with the New Zealand Rugby Union through until after the 2011 World Cup.

So'oialo is the latest in a group of senior players to have committed to New Zealand rugby through until 2011, including All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, Keven Mealamu, Dan Carter, Ma'a Nonu and Andrew Hore.

29-year-old So'oialo has played 55 tests and 79 matches for the Hurricanes.

He says while there have been offers to play overseas the decision to stay in New Zealand was an easy one... he loves living and playing in Wellington and his family is settled here.

He is also excited about being a part of the 2011 World Cup after already being involved in two disappointing campaigns.

The New Zealand Rugby Union chief executive Steve Tew says So'oialo has the option in his new contract to have a form of reconditioning break from the game.
